Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:05AM

Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 3.73%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 3.26%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 2.72%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 2.72%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 2.29%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.23%), Rana Sugars(up 1.82%), BAJAJHIND(up 1.78%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 1.57%) and Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.53%) were among the top gainers.

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.63%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 1.20%) and Sakthi Sugars(down 1.13%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 49.4 points up at 18305.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 148.64 points at 61371.67 at around 11:05AM.

Hero MotoCorp(up 5.08%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.54%), Tata Motors(up 2.62%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.52%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.81%), State Bank of India(up 1.7%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.51%), Wipro(up 1.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.2%) and Infosys(up 1.15%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 5.22%), Coal India(down 1.43%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.37%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.36%), Tata Steel(down 1.27%), Axis Bank(down 1.17%), Cipla(down 0.98%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.82%), HDFC Bank(down 0.79%) and Shree Cement(down 0.71%) were trading in the red.
