In the Nifty 50 index, Hero MotoCorp, ONGC, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto were among the top gainers on the NSE.
HCL Tech, Tata Steel, Hindalco, Shree Cements and UltraTech Cem. were among the top losers.
