Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 64.55 points to 18193.25 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Dilip Buildcon and PayTM, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 19 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 31 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Tata Consumer, Indian Oil Corp., L&T, UltraTech Cem. and Power Grid were among top gainers, while Axis Bank, HCL Tech, Asian Paints, UPL and ONGC traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 254.43 points down at 60980.87 at 10:29AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Metals - Ferrous, Industrial Equipment, Sugar, Consumer Durables and Learning & Education sectors, while selling was visible in Miscellaneous, Auto Ancillaries, Building Materials, Real Estate and IT Enabled Services sectors.
