
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Friday.
Shares of Tata Consultancy(up 1.8 per cent), Infosys(up 1.72 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 1.1 per cent) and HCL Technologies(up 0.22 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mindtree(down 4.13 per cent), L&T Technology(down 2.06 per cent), Wipro(down 1.53 per cent), MPhasis(down 1.28 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.76 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.57 per cent up at 38826.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 2.05 points at 18255.75, while the BSE Sensex stood down 12.27 points at 61223.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and HFCL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Coastal Corp, Ruby Mills, Coffee Day Ent, Manaksia Steels and Guj Mineral Dev. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dilip Buildcon, Gillette India and PayTM hit their fresh 52-week lows.
