Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 09:59AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.98%), Coal India(up 2.82%), Pokarna(up 1.73%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.72%), KIOCL(up 1.55%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.52%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.28%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.95%) and 20 Microns(up 0.84%) were among the top gainers.

Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.47%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.43%) and MOIL(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 33.65 points up at 18246.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 102.37 points at 61252.41 at around 09:59AM.

Tata Steel(up 3.84%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.85%), Coal India(up 2.82%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.47%), JSW Steel(up 2.31%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.96%), UPL Ltd(up 1.77%), NTPC(up 1.72%), Cipla(up 1.53%) and ITC(up 0.9%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro(down 5.02%), Tata Motors(down 1.07%), HDFC Bank(down 1.07%), HCL Technologies(down 0.96%), Shree Cement(down 0.9%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.72%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.71%), Asian Paints(down 0.59%) and Axis Bank(down 0.56%) were trading in the red.
