Shares of Amara Raja Batteries(up 1.81 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.75 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.99 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.93 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 0.86 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 1.22 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.15 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.61 per cent) and Bosch(down 0.05 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.35 per cent up at 11686.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 45.45 points at 18257.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 85.26 points at 61235.3.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of One Point One Soluti, Coastal Corp, Superhouse Ltd, Univastu India and The Anup Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vinny Overseas, Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., PayTM, Uniinfo Telecom Serv and Spandana Sphoorty hit their fresh 52-week lows.
