Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:34AM

AVADHSUGAR(up 4.34%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 4.09%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 3.86%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 3.28%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 3.25%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 2.97%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.87%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 2.83%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 2.35%) and Shree Renuka Sugars(up 2.33%) were among the top gainers.

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.65%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 1.57%) and Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 0.86%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 14.55 points down at 18197.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 84.14 points at 61065.9 at around 10:34AM.

Tata Steel(up 4.38%), Coal India(up 3.51%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 3.47%), JSW Steel(up 3.18%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.95%), UPL Ltd(up 2.05%), Cipla(up 1.95%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.42%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.02%) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.97%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro(down 5.82%), Tata Motors(down 2.03%), HCL Technologies(down 1.54%), HDFC Bank(down 1.41%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.17%), Shree Cement(down 1.05%), Axis Bank(down 1.01%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.9%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.79%) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.77%) were trading in the red.
