Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:10AM

Heritage Foods(up 6.73%), Hind.Foods(up 1.51%), DFM Foods(up 1.39%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 1.32%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.18%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.03%), Dangee Dums(up 0.93%), Parag Milk(up 0.91%), Britannia Industries(up 0.69%) and Emami(up 0.57%) were among the top gainers.

Umang Dairies(down 3.55%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 3.00%), Nakoda Group(down 1.93%), Future Consumer(down 1.27%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.14%), Marico(down 0.81%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.72%), Dabur India(down 0.50%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.37%) and Nestle India(down 0.26%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 1.15 points up at 18213.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 32.8 points at 61117.24 at around 11:10AM.

Tata Steel(up 4.92%), JSW Steel(up 4.13%), Coal India(up 4.05%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 3.31%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.51%), Cipla(up 2.28%), UPL Ltd(up 2.15%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.76%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.38%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.31%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro(down 5.8%), Tata Motors(down 1.82%), HCL Technologies(down 1.8%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.48%), HDFC Bank(down 1.42%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.2%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.18%), Axis Bank(down 0.91%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.76%) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.69%) were trading in the red.
