MPhasis(up 1.16 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 0.44 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.43 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 0.29 per cent) and Infosys(up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Wipro(down 5.53 per cent), Coforge(down 1.32 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 1.27 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.38 per cent at 38458.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 7.8 points at 18204.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 56.09 points at 61093.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, JP Power, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of One Point One Soluti, Coastal Corp, Univastu India, Jullundur Motor and Jindal Stainles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Foce India Ltd., Brand Concepts L and PayTM hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
