Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:55AM

Jyoti Structures(up 4.92%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.63%), Adani Transmissions(up 1.96%), Hitachi Energy India(up 1.75%), NTPC(up 1.08%), NLC India(up 0.68%), Inox wind(up 0.44%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 0.40%), Tata Power Company(up 0.23%) and GE Power India Limited(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers.

Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 6.28%), Energy Development Company(down 5.00%), Karma Energy(down 4.96%), RTNPOWER(down 4.94%), Indowind Energy(down 4.88%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.85%), PIGL(down 4.79%), Suzlon Energy(down 3.67%), K.P.I. Global Infras(down 3.11%) and Adani Power(down 2.09%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 3.6 points up at 18215.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 28.79 points at 61121.25 at around 10:55AM.

Tata Steel(up 4.59%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 4.04%), JSW Steel(up 3.77%), Coal India(up 3.7%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.59%), UPL Ltd(up 2.06%), Cipla(up 2.0%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.68%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.57%) and NTPC(up 1.2%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro(down 5.93%), Tata Motors(down 1.76%), HCL Technologies(down 1.66%), HDFC Bank(down 1.38%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.12%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.07%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.06%), Shree Cement(down 0.87%), Axis Bank(down 0.78%) and Grasim Industries(down 0.62%) were trading in the red.
