Brigade Enterprises(up 1.71 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(up 1.7 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Oberoi Realty(down 2.61 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(down 2.33 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 1.69 per cent), Macrotech Developers(down 1.5 per cent) and DLF(down 1.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Realty index was down 1.08 per cent at 501.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 39.3 points at 18173.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 179.01 points at 60971.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, JP Power, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of One Point One Soluti, Coastal Corp, Univastu India, Jullundur Motor and Tara Chand Logistic hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Foce India Ltd., Brand Concepts L and PayTM hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
