Shares of Granules India(up 2.77 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 1.14 per cent), Laurus(up 0.91 per cent), Lupin(up 0.83 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(up 0.75 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Gland Pharma(down 2.49 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 2.39 per cent), Cadila Healthcare(down 1.76 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.82 per cent) and Abbott India(down 0.79 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.03 per cent down at 13854.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 52.45 points at 18055.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 221.26 points at 60616.89.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of AB Cotspin India Ltd., Vaswani Ind, Dhunseri Invst, Dynacons Sys and Titagarh Wagons hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., Policy Bazaar, Vikas Ecotech (PP), PayTM and Spandana Sphoorty hit their fresh 52-week lows.
