Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology of India states that every corporate and government is now in a race to digitalise its governance, functions, services, business and is going through a huge disruptive transformation

Technology or IT-based services are indispensable for any organisation to function, to be productive and ultimately to grow, especially in today’s pace of digitalisation. The IT industry is the backbone of the nation’s economy to prosper exponentially and to generate millions of jobs. In order to pivot and disrupt, not having a legacy, sometimes, is a good thing, says Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Additionally, he acknowledges that there is a whole new layering of opportunities on top of what India’s core capability was for the last 15-20 years.
Advocating the boom in the startup ecosystem of India, the minister envisages and mentions, “The next wave of computing performance is going to come from software optimization, semiconductor design, electronic systems design, and innovation.”
Reiterating what PM Modi said on 15th Aug 2021, ‘Yeh hi Bhaarat Ka Samay hai’ (translates to- This is India’s time), the Minister firmly believes the same and he further asserts that we are evangelists and advocates of the opportunities that already exist. Adding to the same, he said that MeitY and the government of India will work in partnership to support and boost the entrepreneur's morale.
Adapting to the pace of transformation, every corporate is going through a massive shift and is in a race to digitalise its processes, functions, governance, products and services to be future-ready. Chandrasekhar noted the vision of building the USD 1 trillion digital economy in the country will be achieved in partnership with industry, entrepreneurs and academia.
While being in the hybrid work regime, cybercrime and data security are topical concerns for companies and business leaders across industries. Talking about user data security amid rapid digitisation, Chandrasekhar said, “Because of the proliferation of public services and the nature of users, the internet in India will always be open.”
“It is clearly our determination and the focus on our mission that the internet in India shall grow. India will become the largest connected country in the world," he professes while speaking at the recent industry event.
MoS Chandrasekhar affirms that the internet should always be open, safe, trusted, and accountable. No state, no government, no big tech platforms can ever become a force that will, in any way, dilute the openness of the internet.
