During winter, it's common for people of all ages to experience sore and stiff muscles.

The cold weather combined by a lack of physical activity makes your muscles contract a bit more. If there is less blood circulation, your joints get tighter and stiffer making you feel uncomfortable and sometimes even painful as you go about your day.

According to Yoga and Ayurveda life expert Namita Piparaiya, it's "very important to move your joints," particularly your shoulders, elbows, neck and knees.

In the video below, Namita explains how you can begin your day with simple stretches that will help you loosen up some of your muscles and make you feel refreshed.
