Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 9.47%), Adani Power(up 8.48%), Inox wind(up 8.26%), SJVN(up 5.30%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 5.00%), Reliance Power(up 4.95%), PIGL(up 4.93%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.91%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.87%) and Indo Tech Transformers(up 4.72%) stood among the top gainers.
Indowind Energy(down 4.92%), Voltamp Transformers(down 1.65%), CESC(down 0.66%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.58%), GE Power India Limited(down 0.22%) and PTC India(down 0.05%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 190.6 points up at 18003.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 650.98 points at 60395.63.
UPL Ltd(up 4.14%), Titan Company Ltd(up 3.3%), Hero MotoCorp(up 3.16%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.78%), Tata Motors(up 2.67%), Larsen & Toubro(up 2.53%), State Bank of India(up 2.52%), HDFC(up 2.42%), Coal India(up 2.39%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.29%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Wipro(down 2.53%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.13%), Nestle India(down 0.98%), Asian Paints(down 0.64%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.58%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.57%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.38%), Shree Cement(down 0.37%), Eicher Motors(down 0.32%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.27%) closed in the red.
