New Zealand vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test, Day 1 Live Cricket Score Updates:Bangladesh's young guns will look to disprove talk of Hagley Oval being a graveyard for visiting teams in the second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch starting Sunday. The Black Caps see the picturesque central city ground as a safe haven and point to an impressive Test record of six wins, a loss and a draw at the oval. The emerald wicket suits their swing and seam attack and they expect to atone for their shock loss to the tourists in the first Test. New Zealand also have the additional incentive of providing a victorious farewell for senior batsman Ross Taylor in his final Test before retiring from international cricket. (LIVE SCORECARD)

To be honest, Bangladesh just weren’t at their best with the ball. They were way too wide outside off and did not make the most of the new ball. Whenever they hit the right areas, they did manage to cause problems but they weren’t consistent enough. Also, they were a tad unlucky too but overall, Haque will be disappointed with the effort of the bowlers.
End of an excellent session for the hosts and Latham will be thinking, it wasn’t that bad a toss to lose. Haque on the other hand, maybe regretting his decision to bowl first already. The visitors have a lot of thinking to do in the break.
A length ball, on off. Latham solidly blocks it. That will be Lunch on Day 1.
FOUR! Crunched! Captain leading from the front! A short of a length, on middle. Latham pulls it in front of square leg for a boundary.
Short and around off. Latham sways away from the line.
On the pads, this is tucked to square leg.
Good shot from Latham! Too full, on off, this is driven to mid off.
Length and on off. Blocked out.
BEATEN! 138 clicks! Good channel from Ahmed! On a length, just outside off. Young prods to defend but gets beaten on the outside edge.
A fuller-length ball, outside off. Latham looks to drive but gets an inside edge to fine leg and a single is taken. Was early to his shot.
On middle, on a length. Latham solidly defends it.
Full and on middle, this is pushed wide of mid on for a quick single.
Again this is outside off but Young leaves it alone this time.
FOUR! Placement! A length ball, way outside off. Young frees his arms and cuts it through point for a boundary.
Short of a length, on middle. Latham stays back and blocks it out.
Strays it on the pads, this is flicked to deep square leg for a couple.
On a length, on off. Defended.
Bangladesh are appealing for everything now! A length ball, this one just shapes away off the deck, just around off. Latham gets beaten as he looks to defend. An appeal but nothing given.
FOUR! Timed it really well! Pitches it up, outside off. Latham drives it through covers for a boundary.
