Live news updates: India recorded on Friday 117,100 new cases of Covid-19, breaching the 100,000-mark for daily tally of infections and the most since early June.
The health ministry also reported 302 new deaths, taking the total to 483,178. Total infections stand at 35.23 million, as the Omicron variant overtakes Delta in the cities and climbs to 3,007 in total.
