Gujarat Govt postpones Vibrant Gujarat summit Amid Omicron Scare

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Thursday, informed that India’s active caseload is presently at 2,85,401 which constitute 0.81 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Amid the ongoing Coronavirus and constant threat from the Omicron variant, the Gujarat Government has said that it has postponed the Vibrant Gujarat investor summit. 

This summit was scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 10. The step came after India witnessed a sharp spike in COVID-19 cases with 90,928 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. 

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Thursday, informed that India’s active caseload is presently at 2,85,401 which constitute 0.81 per cent of the country's total positive cases. 

Talking about the COVID-19 cases in Gujarat, the state reported 3,350 new cases in 24 hours. Meanwhile, active cases have crossed 10,000 at 10,994 after 6.5 months. Meanwhile, a total of 50 Omicron variant cases were registered in the state in the last 24 hours which pushed the tally to 204.
