Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.2% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:05AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Gland Pharma(up 2.49 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.66 per cent), Laurus(up 0.54 per cent), Lupin(up 0.48 per cent) and Natco Pharma(up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Divis Laboratories(down 1.12 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.93 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.8 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.65 per cent) and Granules India(down 0.64 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.2 per cent at 13972.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 235.35 points at 17689.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 824.54 points at 59398.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, JP Power, YES Bank and NBCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GRP Ltd, Lagnam Spintex, BGR Energy, Nahar Capital and Panama Petro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while McDowell Hold, PayTM, Mas Fin Services and Lumax Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
