
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of RBLBANK(up 2.6 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 1.96 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.47 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 0.38 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.13 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank(down 1.6 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.57 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.38 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.2 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.55 per cent down at 37490.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 179.35 points at 17745.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 621.31 points at 59601.84.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nahar Capital, Compuage Infocom, GRP Ltd, Lagnam Spintex and Manaksia Steels hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Policy Bazaar, Shri Ram Switchgears, McDowell Hold, PayTM and SVP Global hit their fresh 52-week lows.
