NEW DELHI: Shares of Nahar Capital, Compuage Infocom, GRP Ltd, Lagnam Spintex and Manaksia Steels, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Thursday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 179.35 points down at 17745.9 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Policy Bazaar, Shri Ram Switchgears, McDowell Hold, PayTM and SVP Global, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

Overall, 15 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 34 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, UPL, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel and Eicher Motors were among top gainers during the day, while JSW Steel, Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cem., Shree Cements and RIL ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 621.31 points down at 59601.84.

Traders piled up positions in Telecommunications, Irrigation & Allied Services, Textiles, Consumer Durables and Rubber sectors, while selling was witnessed in Miscellaneous, Services, Learning & Education, Diversified and Cement sectors during the day.
