Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:50AM

Future Consumer(up 5.33%), Parag Milk(up 3.14%), P & G Hygiene(up 0.68%), Emami(up 0.50%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.50%), DFM Foods(up 0.45%), Bajaj Consumer(up 0.39%), Umang Dairies(up 0.14%) and Hind.Foods(up 0.08%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 4.98%), Varun Beverages(down 3.46%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.97%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.76%), Nestle India(down 1.40%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 1.35%), ADF Foods(down 1.29%), Dangee Dums(down 1.27%), Dabur India(down 1.24%) and Zydus Wellness(down 1.20%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 246.3 points down at 17678.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 862.05 points at 59361.1 at around 10:50AM.

UPL Ltd(up 1.75%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.73%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.73%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.64%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.5%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.87%), JSW Steel(down 2.43%), HDFC(down 2.1%), HDFC Bank(down 2.1%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.03%), Reliance Industries(down 1.97%), Asian Paints(down 1.92%), NTPC(down 1.82%), Infosys(down 1.79%) and HCL Technologies(down 1.77%) were trading in the red.
