Shares of Oberoi Realty(up 3.11 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 2.05 per cent), DLF(up 1.93 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 1.61 per cent) and Macrotech Developers(up 0.54 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises(down 1.67 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects(down 0.32 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.2 per cent up at 492.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 120.0 points at 17925.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 367.22 points at 60223.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, JP Power, HFCL and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of GRP Ltd, Lagnam Spintex, Talbros Auto, United Drilling and Intnl Conveyors hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Spandana Sphoorty, Star Health, Mas Fin Services, McDowell Hold and Lumax Ind hit their fresh 52-week lows.
