Nifty continues to climb a wall of worry as it looks to be in the final leg of its rally before heading for a correction.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.

Shares of Laurus(up 1.58 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.45 per cent), Cipla(up 0.47 per cent), Granules India(up 0.46 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.45 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 2.94 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.37 per cent), Cadila Healthcare(down 1.27 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.93 per cent) and Abbott India(down 0.63 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.29 per cent down at 13999.85.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 120.0 points at 17925.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 367.22 points at 60223.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, JP Power, HFCL and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GRP Ltd, Lagnam Spintex, Talbros Auto, United Drilling and Intnl Conveyors hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Spandana Sphoorty, Star Health, Mas Fin Services, McDowell Hold and Lumax Ind hit their fresh 52-week lows.
