OnePlus will finally launch its 9RT smartphone in India on January 14. The device was previously rumoured to enter India in December 2020. It will now officially arrive next week. The company will also be taking the wraps off its new Buds Z2 wireless earbuds, which are already available in the global markets for $99 (around Rs 7,600). It comes with active noise cancellation (ANC) and is said to offer up to 38 hours of battery life. Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming OnePlus products.
The upcoming OnePlus event will take place virtually and will kick off at 5:00PM on January 14. Interested users will be able to watch the OnePlus 9RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 India launch event live via OnePlus India's YouTube channel. The brand has also published a dedicated event page on its official site and users can also click on the 'Notify Me' button to get updates on the launch.
Just a few weeks back, the OnePlus 9RT was launched in China. So, the specifications and features of the smartphone could be similar for the Indian variant too. The handset packs a 6.62-inch full-HD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED display with 1,300nits of peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent of DCI-P3 colour gamut and a touch sampling rate of 1300Hz.
It is powered by Qualcomm's top-notch Snapdragon 888 SoC. There is a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), which one will also find on the original OnePlus 9 series. The setup also includes a 16-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It supports 4K video recording too, with hybrid focus. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie camera sensor with electronic image stabilisation (EIS).
OnePlus has also offered dual stereo speakers on the OnePlus 9RT, along with Dolby Atmos support. It features a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery with support for Warp Charge 65T fast charging. The connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The OnePlus 9RT was launched in China for CNY 3,299, which is around Rs 38,600 for the 8GB + 128GB configuration.
This will be a successor to the OnePlus Buds Z wireless earbuds that is currently selling in India for Rs 2,999. The OnePlus Buds Z2 has 11mm dynamic drivers, support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and touch controls. You also get a transparency mode, which is for background noise. It is said to offer up to 38 hours of battery life on a single charge. It comes with Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity.
