Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.37% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 09:59AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Alkem Laboratories(up 1.45 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 0.7 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.68 per cent), Biocon(up 0.65 per cent) and Abbott India(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Cadila Healthcare(down 1.3 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.0 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.99 per cent), Cipla(down 0.8 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.75 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.37 per cent at 14103.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 67.2 points at 17692.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 252.69 points at 59435.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mirza Intnl, ARSS Infra, Arihant Capital, Indo Rama Synth and Shree Rama Multi hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., A and M Jumbo Bags L, HEC Infra Projects, Vishwaraj Sugar and McDowell Hold hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
