Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:34AM

NTPC(up 4.68%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.66%), Orient Green Power Company(up 2.46%), Inox wind(up 2.25%), Torrent Power(up 1.62%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 1.53%), PTC India(up 1.40%), ADANIGREEN(up 1.33%), DPSC(up 1.18%) and JSW Energy(up 1.17%) were among the top gainers.

Indowind Energy(down 4.98%), Suzlon Energy(down 4.67%), NTL(down 4.29%), Reliance Power(down 3.16%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 2.46%), Jyoti Structures(down 1.71%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.13%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.87%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 0.81%) and Hitachi Energy India(down 0.54%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 91.9 points up at 17717.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 335.79 points at 59519.01 at around 10:34AM.

NTPC(up 4.64%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.7%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.63%), State Bank of India(up 2.41%), Axis Bank(up 1.82%), ICICI Bank(up 1.63%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.15%), SBI Life(up 1.13%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.11%) and Reliance Industries(up 1.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.22%), Tata Motors(down 1.13%), Infosys(down 0.86%), HCL Technologies(down 0.84%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.67%), Shree Cement(down 0.63%), Cipla(down 0.62%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.62%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.6%) and Wipro(down 0.51%) were trading in the red.
