
CAT 2021 result announced: IIM Ahmedabad has announced the Common Admission Test CAT 2021 results today. The exam was conducted on November 28, 2021. The institute will soon the toppers list on the official website. Candidates who appeared in the exam can check the result at the official website – iimcat.ac.in
A total of 9 candidates have secured 100 percentile of which all are male students. A total of 19 candidates (all male) have secured 99.99 percentiles. Among the 100 percentile scorers, 7 belong to engineering academic background while 2 are from non-engineering stream.
Slot 1 of the exam was conducted from 8:30 am – 10:30 am, the timing for slot 2 was 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm, and slot 3 was held from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Around 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of 2.30 lakh registered eligible candidates. The overall attendance was approximately 83 per cent this year.
CAT 2021 was conducted at 438 test centres across 156 cities in India. The duration of the test was of 120 minutes [160 minutes for persons with disability (PwD) category candidates].
IIM Ahemdabad had earlier released the CAT 2021 answer key and candidates were given a time period to submit an objection against any answer till December 11. The final result will be declared after considering the representations received from the candidates. The CAT 2021 score is valid only till December 31, 2022.

The candidates can check their results on the official website by clicking on “CAT Result 2021” and then the candidate’s login will appear in which you will need to enter your application number and password. The CAT scorecard will appear on your screen.
Apart from the IIMs, more than 88 other non-IIM institutions will also use CAT scores this year for admission into their management programmes.
CAT candidates get marks in percentile and not percentage. The Overall Scaled Score is the sum of the scaled scores of the candidate in the three sections. Percentile refers to the percentage of candidates who receive a scaled score less than or equal to the scaled score obtained by the candidate.
The list of candidates shortlisted for the next level of selection will be made available on the website of the respective IIMs. Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. Usually, there is an aptitude test, group activity, and an interview. The criteria for shortlisting vary across IIMs - there can be all three or any one of the criteria. The pandemic might have an impact on the interview rounds etc as well.
For admission in IIMs and other B-Schools through CAT 2021score, there will be a two-step process – analytical writing test (AWT) and personal interview (PI). The first thing will be the preliminary screening.
CAT 2021 scorecard contains the name of the candidate, test day photo, uploaded photo, date of birth, email, CAT registration number, gender, PwD status, city, district, state, date and time of the test, section-wise scaled score, and percentile overall scaled score and percentile, and instructions.
As per the govt norms, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, 27% for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC), up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) across IIMs.
The CAT 2020 score is valid only till December 31, 2022 and will accordingly be accessible on the website. Thereafter, no queries related to the issuance of CAT 2020 scorecards will be entertained.
In the CAT 2021 results, 9 male students secured 100 percentile out of which 7 are from engineering background. Of the 19 students who secured 99.99 percentile, 16 are from engineering academics. Similarly, of those who secured 99.98 percentile, 15 out of 19 are engineers.

Around 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of 2.30 lakhs registered eligible candidates. The overall attendance was approximately 83%. Out of the 1.92 lakh candidates taken the exam, 35% were Females, 65% Males and 2 candidates represent Transgender.
