'Adventure courses will instil will power amongst youth'

Imphal, December 27 2021: Adventure courses will help tremendously in instilling courage, will power, patience and hard work among the youth, said Works Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh, today at the 36th Raising Day of the Manipur Mountaineering Institute cum graduation ceremony of the 87th Adventure Course, 2021 at MMI, Lamdan.
Addressing the function as the chief guest, Biswajit Singh said that fear holds 'us back and we can achieve success when we overcome our fear' .
He said these adventure courses and training will help youngsters in developing their own personalities.
Biswajit also assured all possible assistance in the development of the complex and the institute.
He appreciated the institute for organizing such courses, and added, 'only when our youth are morally, mentally and physically strong will our Nation become strong.' He further expressed the possibility of developing the complex into an eco-tourism spot under the PPP model.

Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus is on the youth as the youth can play a significant role in society, Thongam Biswajit said that 60-65 percent of India's population comprises youth. He continued that sports and related activities should be encouraged as involvement in such activities keeps the youth away from drugs.
Further stressing on the importance of every section in the development of society, the Minister said that society is made up of individuals and each 'one of us have our own responsibilities.' He said if every individual fulfils these responsibilities, there is no way there will be no development in the society.
Biswajit also said 'we should laud Prime Minister Narendra Modi's effort in fighting the Covid pandemic,' and added that, today people are able to converge and organize social gatherings due to the massive vaccination program under the Vaccine for All, Free for All call of the Prime Minister.
As part of the function, Biswajit also led in paying floral tributes to the Mountaineer Tenzing Norgay.
Certificates and prizes were also distributed to trainees of the 87th Adventure Course.
