20 Microns(up 2.24%), Lexus Granito(up 1.86%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.77%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.25%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.23%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.96%), KIOCL(up 0.68%), MOIL(up 0.61%) and Coal India(up 0.10%) stood among the top gainers.
Ashapura Minechem(down 1.14%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.22%), Pokarna(down 0.19%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.08%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 82.5 points up at 17086.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 295.93 points at 57420.24.
Tech Mahindra(up 3.55%), Cipla(up 2.42%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.12%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.43%), UPL Ltd(up 1.31%), ICICI Bank(up 1.22%), SBI Life(up 1.2%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.11%), HDFC(up 0.96%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.83%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 1.33%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.83%), Britannia Industries(down 0.79%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.69%), Grasim Industries(down 0.52%), Asian Paints(down 0.38%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.38%), ITC(down 0.21%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.19%) and Reliance Industries(down 0.11%) closed in the red.
