ReutersNEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.43 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 1.22 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.09 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.83 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 0.7 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, RBLBANK(down 18.48 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 2.19 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 1.07 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.84 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.69 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.58 per cent up at 35057.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 82.5 points at 17086.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 295.93 points at 57420.24.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 12 closed in the red.
Shares of RBL Bank, Vodafone Idea, GMR Infra, YES Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Gujarat Lease, HP Adhesives Ltd., Manaksia Aluminium, Kingfa Science Tech and Smartlink Holdings hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while RBL Bank, Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., A and M Jumbo Bags L, Shriram Properties Ltd. and JTL Infra hit their fresh 52-week lows.
