Imphal, December 25 2021: Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) and Manipur State Pensioners' Union (MSPU) vice president L Sarat has informed that a memorandum will be submitted to the state government for reviving the old pension scheme as the new pension scheme effective from 2004 in the country and from 2005 in the state has become a big issue in all states of the country.

L Sarat informed media persons during a press conference held at Pensioners' Union office at Pishumthong that the earlier pension system in the country has been replaced by a new scheme from the year 2004 and the latter came into effect in the state from the year 2005.However, the new pension scheme has become a big issue in every state of the country and there has been demand for review of the new system and revival of the old pension system.

The matter has been deliberated during a discussion session held recently and strongly called for revival of the old system, he said, adding that a memorandum in this regard will be submitted to the government soon.
