Fatehgarh Sahib, Dec 25

The state government is committed for the overall development of rural as well as urban areas, this was stated by Kaka Randeep Singh Nabha, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, during a function at the BDPO Amloh.

He said to date more than Rs 93 crore had been spent for the development of rural areas in Amloh constituency. Besides, Rs 2.5 crore has been sanctioned and is being handed over to panchayats, he said while addressing the gathering at a function organised to distribute grants to rural people. The minister handed over cheques for about Rs 4.88 crore for the development of villages and the amount was transferred to the beneficiaries accounts for the renovation of their houses.

He called upon the people not to fall into the trap of false promises being made by leaders coming from Delhi. Earlier, he handed over approximately 3,000 sports cycles to school students at Amloh. — OC
