Student bodies point out anomalies in construction of PMGSY road

Noney, December 23 2021: The student bodies of Longpi Circle comprising Gangte Students' Organisation and Kuki Students' Organisation have pointed out various anomalies in the construction of roads under PMGSY Package No MNO-740 and MNO-7244 and warned all concerned to cease work with immediate effect.

In a release issued by Gangte Students' Organisation, the student bodies informed that they have been compelled to ban the construction work following the submission of three official letters for grievance redressal regarding anomalies in PMGSY road construction and diversion of road projects against the original site.

It also highlighted various anomalies including non-implementation of PMGSY Government Package No MNO-740; diversion of the road from Bijang to Gallon against the Government provision ie Longpi to Gallon, wherein a PMGSY signboard "Longpi to Gallon" was installed at Bijang village, which is not the proposed location; another signboard, "Longpi to Gallon" at Leikot village under Package No MNO-7244, Phase XI RT(Pt) .

It also alleged that the irresponsible nature of concerned authorities and aberrations meted out at one's whims were unethical and amounted to complete disregard of Government Order and public sentiments.

It continued that in the interest of the public, the work must be halted unless the road project adheres to the guidelines and provisions laid down under the package orders.

The student bodies further cautioned all engaged under the said PMGSY packages to cease work immediately along with the estimation of bills until their demands are fulfilled.
