CCpur, December 23 2021: The Singngat police today arrested a wanted man who has been on the run for some time now.

Nehkhohao (28) son of Laltinkhum was arrested from the outskirt of a village by a team of Singngat PS team led by SI Haolensang and Inspector Romel Gangte, OC Singngat PS.

The team acted under the guidance of SP and Additional SP (Ops) said a statement issued by the SP Churachandpur.

Nehkhohao and his friend Pumzalian Ngaihte were camping inside a jungle collecting timber.

However their makeshift shed was found abandoned with food already cooked left untouched on December 8 .

The murder of Ngaihte is suspected to have been committed on December 4 .

As blood stains were found within and outside the shed, suspicion grew that one of them might have murdered the other and escaped.

Reports that Nehkhohao was seen by some people led the police to begin a manhunt and he was subsequently declared a wanted man with a reward of 20k on anyone who could provide information leading to his arrest.

As Singngat police have now arrested him, the SP said the cash reward will be given to them.
