Bulls mentor Jake White managed to pull off a coup in terms of his team's continuity by nailing down Cornal Hendricks until 2024 at Loftus.

The 33-year-old midfielder has been outstanding since the former World Cup-winning Springbok coach took charge as director of rugby, arguably becoming the franchise's most valuable backline star.

"Cornal has proven to be a key figure of the Vodacom Bulls team, on and off the field. We are pleased to have been able to extend his contract with us," said White.

But there's also been a focus on the future, with fullback Richard Kriel (21) and the gifted Jan-Hendrik Wessels (20) both extending their stays too.

Kriel, younger brother of regular 15 David, has started to come into his own at senior level, while Wessels is now slated to become a hooker after shining as South Africa's leading loosehead prop in schoolboy rugby.

"Part of our bigger vision is to nurture young talent and groom some of our youngsters to form part of the core of the Vodacom Bulls. As such, it is important that talented players like Jan-Hendrik and Richard – who are the future of Vodacom Bulls rugby – remain rooted at Loftus as we continue to build towards having a successful, world-class team," said White.

The Bulls earlier this week announced the signing of former Lions ace flanker Cyle Brink, who's stay at Leicester was blighted by injuries.
