Having lifted the coveted title for a record five times, Tamil Nadu will be eager to leave no stone unturned to book a spot in the VHT final and hopefully lift the trophy again. The star-studded Tamil Nadu team has not one but many match-winners in the likes of N Jagadeesan, Vijay Shankar, Shahrukh Khan, Washington Sundar, and veteran Dinesh Karthik. Each one of them has been assigned a specific role. And, they have successfully delivered it.
N Jagadeesan at the top and Dinesh Karthik in the middle order have the job to provide a solid start and build a platform from which Vijay Shankar and especially Shahrukh Khan can finish the game on high. And the duo has done a commendable job with being the top two run-scorers for the side.
Coming to Shahrukh Khan’s finishing role, the 26-year-old right-hander never fails to impress be his power-packed quick-fire fifty against Mumbai in group-round or the valuable quickfire 39-ball 79 against Karnataka in the quarterfinal. Shahrukh Khan has always managed to rescue Tamil Nadu, especially with that last ball 6 in the SMAT 2021 finals.

For Saurashtra, keeping a check on Tamil Nadu’s batting line-up can be a little difficult. But they do have enough tools in the likes of skipper Jaydev Unadkat & Chetan Sakariya who were top-notch against Vidarbha in the quarterfinals.
While Unadkat bring in years of experience on the table, young Chetan Sakariya too looked red-hot against Vidarbha.
However, a lot will depend upon Saurashtra batters. Saurashtra’s batting is heavily reliant upon Prerak Mankad and the likes of H Desai and A Vasavada will have to chip in with the bat.
Both teams will square off at KL Saini Ground in Jaipur on Friday morning.
