One day integrated communication and outreach programme conducted

Imphal, December 23 2021: A one day integrated communication and outreach programme on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was organised at Modern College, Porompat by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today.
Dr O Premila Chanu, Principal of Modern College and Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, Head of Office, Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal graced the occasion as the chief guest and the president respectively, said a press release by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal.
Speaking as a resource person, Dr P Pravabati Devi, Associate Professor, Head of Department of History, Modern College elaborated on the events of the first Nupi Lan, 1904, second Nupi Lan, 1939, Kuki Rebellion, 1917, the contributions of Hijam Irabot , Jadonang and Rani Gaidiliu.

The contributions of Manipuri Prince Sana Chahi Ahum @Narendrajit Singh who joined the 34th Native Infantry to fight against the British during the Sepoy Mutiny, 1857 and the contributions and leadership of M Koireng Singh in providing daily ration to the INA at Moirang during the Second World War was also a part of the discussion on the unsung heroes from Manipur in India's freedom struggle.
A quiz contest was also held and prizes along with certificates were distributed.
As a part of the programme, Private Registered Troupe(PRT) of ROB, Imphal, M/s Achouba Artiste Association played a drama on Nupi Lan, 1939 .
