Haridwar Hate Assembly: Priests, leaders call for Muslim genocide to make Hindu Rashtra, says it’s time to pick up weapons

Multiple videos of Hindutva group members, journalists and BJP leaders calling for violence against Muslims sparked outrage on social media on Wednesday. A part of the conference was live and several videos have gone viral now.

Hindutva leader Yati Narsinghanand organized a three day Dharma Sansad in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar where multiple calls were made to kill Muslims, vandalised their religious spaces and also asked Hindus to buy weapons.

Multiple videos of Hindutva group members, journalists and BJP leaders calling for violence against Muslims sparked outrage on social media on Wednesday. A part of the conference was live and several videos have gone viral now.

Suresh Chavhanke, the editor-in-chief of Sudarshan News, who was also part of the conference, can be seen administering an oath to a group of people to die for and kill to make India a Hindu Rashtra.

Sharing a video administering oath, he tweeted that the lions and lionesses of Hindu Yuva Vahini taking an oath for Hindu Rashtra.

Swami Prabodhanand Giri, president of the Hindu Raksha Sena, a right-wing organisation based out of Uttarakhand said like Myanmar, police, politicians, Army and every Hindu must pick up weapons and conduct this “Safaayi Abhiyan”. There is no other option left”.

When the videos have gone viral, tweeple have pointed out the presence of Uttar Pradesh minister Rajeshwar Singh at the event.

A Dharma Sansad, the religious parliament held between December 17-19 was proved to be the platform for Hindutva leaders to spew hate speech and call for communal violence.

Along with Narsinghanand, the controversial priest of Ghaziabad’s Dasna Devi temple and recently appointed ‘Mahamandaleshwar’ of the Juna Akhara, the gathering had other speakers, including Annapurna Maa, Dharamdas Maharaj from Bihar, Anand Swaroop Maharaj, Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj, Swami Premanand Maharaj, and BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay, who had been arrested in August in connection with inflammatory sloganeering against Muslims in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

The episode of hate speech after hate speech made by religious leaders, right-wing activists, hardline fundamentalist speakers have not been ended event two months before the assembly elections in five states.
