BJP Mahila Morcha president announces candidacy

Imphal, December 22 2021: State president of BJP Mahila Morcha L Loteeka has announced her candidacy for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections from Uripok Assembly Constituency, today.

Speaking to media persons at her residence at Uripok Achom Leikai, L Loteeka said that women participation in decision making is quite negligible in Manipur though their 'contribution in our society is immense' .

Saying that BJP Mahila Morcha has been promoting women participation in formulating laws and other decision making at Mandal and district level, Loteeka continued she opted to contest the election to lead by example.

She also said that it is BJP that provides her the platform to serve the people.

On being asked why she has announced her candidacy rather late, Loteeka said that she didn't want to waste her as well as others' time by campaigning much ahead of the election.

Saying that she doesn't want to contest the election with money power, Loteeka continued that she will work at her best and make sure everyone gets their due share.

"It is true that many are eyeing for BJP ticket but the party would surely give the ticket to me," she added.
