Chandigarh, December 22

The city Congress today lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission to “unearth the deep-rooted conspiracy wherein a fake survey was published by a channel” by allegedly forging its name. The party also demanded those who circulated the ‘survey report’ on the social media should be traced and punished as per law.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress office in Sector 35 here, Punjab Cabinet Minister Raj Kumar Verka stated that during the Punjab Assembly elections in 2017, a survey was published giving 100 seats to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), but it got only 20 seats. “The AAP is in the habit of circulating such surveys before the elections, which prove to be false. This particular survey also gives an advantage to AAP,” he claimed.

Verka said, “People of Punjab and Chandigarh have now become aware of such shenanigans of AAP and give them a befitting reply by totally rejecting them in the MC elections.”
