The vacation season has arrived and the over-the-top (OTT) platforms are testing new offers for their users. After Netflix, Disney+Hotstar is in talks to test two new mobile plans with a small group of users in India.
Reportedly, new plans can be accessed through a few payment modes only.
Disney+Hotstar tests new monthly plans
As per media reports, the OTT platform is offering the entry-level mobile-only plan at Rs 99. However, users can access this plan at a discount of Rs 49. Apart from this, Disney+Hotstar is also offering semi-annual plans priced at Rs 299. Users can get access to the plan on sale for Rs 199.
The benefits for Premium users will not change and users can view shows on 4 devices with video quality in 4K. Disney+ Hotstar Superusers can get access to 2 devices with video quality restricted in HD.
The introductory mobile plans can be available on offer if users complete the payment online via PhonePe, Paytm, card, or UPI. It is said that Android users have spotted the plans first shared the screenshot on Reddit.
However, no official statement has been released by Disney+Hotstar yet.
In September, Disney+Hotstar introduced new plans starting at Rs 499. The platform gave access to all content to all its users and discarded its Rs 399 annual VIP subscription. Other plans of Disney+Hostar are priced at Rs 499, Rs 899, and Rs 1,499 for single streaming, several devices, and ad-free content respectively.
Early in December, another OTT giant, Netflix reduced the prices of its subscription plans to Rs 149. The mobile users can have access to this plan at 480 p.
