The SA Schools Cricket class of 2021 were capped at the start of the final day of the Khaya Majola Cricket Week in Potchefstroom, with the convenor of selectors, Patrick Moroney, presenting the honours.

Schalk Engelbrecht of Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies) in Pretoria was announced as the 2021 captain, following the footsteps of Affies alumni Jacques Rudolph in 1999 and Francois le Clus in 2004.

The school boasting the most representatives is SACS from Cape Town with two players, Meek-eel Prince and Liyema Waqu, given the nod.

Despite the two national sides not being able to take to the field this year, the selection panel, made up of Moroney, Deon Botes, Graham October, Gregg Hobson, and Burton de Wet chose 13 players per side to receive their honours in 2021.

Joe Mayer, the talisman of Free State from St. Andrews School, was named captain of the SA Colts side after scoring an impressive century on the fourth day.

Nicholas Adenorf, the top wicket-taker of the week so far also features in the Colts side.
