Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.82% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:25AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Cadila Healthcare(up 2.27 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.94 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.56 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 1.56 per cent) and Laurus(up 1.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.03 per cent), Cipla(down 0.62 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.42 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.2 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.19 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.82 per cent at 13293.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 257.45 points at 16871.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 868.77 points at 56690.78.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Trident Ltd and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of C.E. Info Systems Ltd., MTNL, Manaksia Coated, STL Global and IMP Powers Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while HEC Infra Projects, Vikas Multicorp(PP), Balaxi Pharma, Kriti Ind and CarTrade Tech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
