1st Khelo India Women Hockey League begins

Imphal, December 15 2021: The 1st Khelo India Women Hockey League for under-21 players kicked off at the historic Major Dhyanchand National Hockey on Wednesday.
The inaugural function was attended by union minister YAS Anurag Thakur, Mos YAS Nitus Pramanit, DG SAI Sandeep Oradhan, IOA & FIH president Dr Narunder Dhruv Batra, Gyanendro Ningombam, president Hockey India, and Rahender, SG Hockey India.
The chief guest together with dignitaries and team captains unveiled the trophies.
Altogether 14 teams will participate in the 7-day-long competition which will be held in three phases.
All the 14 teams will play 18 matches in each phase.
The competition will give a golden opportunity to all the players to showcase their talents, said a press release from Manipur Hockey.
