MYSURU: A two-year-old girl succumbed to burns she suffered after a bucket of hot water accidentally fell on her in the bathroom at her Dasanakopplu residence in
Mysuru taluk on Sunday.
According to sources, the incident took place when Adhya’s mother
Jayalakshmi left her in the bathroom with a bucket of hot water and went out to fetch cold water. Her father
Ramu, who is a photographer, was not at home. “The girl may have tried to play with the water when it spilled over her,” a source said. Hearing her daughter’s cries, the mother rushed to the bathroom and immediately shifted her to the state-run
KR Hospital. However, she succumbed to burns during treatment on Sunday night.
“Adhya had suffered more than 60% burns. Chances of kids surviving over 30% burns are low,” said Mohan G Kakola, professor and head of plastic surgery and burns department at KR Hospital.
Jayapura police have taken up a case.
