Actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who has charmed the audiences over the years with her spectacular performances in Indian cinema, recently joined NewsX for a candid chat as part of NewsX India A-List. As part of the exclusive conversation, the actor opened up about launch of Titan’s latest collection Nebula, her favourite watch from the collection and much more.

Speaking from the launch venue, Aditi said, “I am not saying this because it is a part of my job but i’m saying this because I really mean it. It is really stunning. It is very beautiful. I love anything that is made with so much thought and so much love for art, heritage and culture. These watches are inspired by different parts of India, different styles, whether it is calligraphy or filigree or the deck in and the art styles of the deccan. I love jewellery and these watches are like jewellery. To me, it is a beautiful sort of coming together of an accessory that I love, which is watches (I always wear a watch) and something that I love wearing when i go out, especially when I go to weddings or when I am wearing Indian clothes, which also i love. So, here is a watch that looks like jewellery. I think it is absolutely beautiful and the new Nebula collection is truly stunning.”

When asked about her favourite watch from the collection, she responded, “There are three. It is very difficult for me to pick. There are three that I have loved and it is not surprising that all of them are inspired by the Dukhni tradition. Since I am a good Hyderabadi, without knowing I picked those three. One of them has emeralds, one has rubies and one is jade. They are very beautiful and they are inspired by the falaknuma and the architecture of the the falaknuma so I have correctly chosen these three.”

Sharing her thoughts on the importance of a good watch in one’s personal style, Aditi expressed, “I have seen my grandmother and my grandaunts and a lot of people in Hyderabad when I was growing up, I saw them wear very beautiful time pieces. Even my grand father. Time pieces were something that were really treasured and I know that they, atleast in my family, have been passed on from generation to generation. When you have something as special as something that is timeless, something that outlives you, something that is truly precious, for me that is true luxury. To have access to it and to have people who are making something for you that sort of draws from history and hands it to you in a contemporary way, I think that’s a really beautiful thing and I am all for that. That has always been something that I have loved. I think watches as jewellery are a very beautiful thing and it is time that they came back. Quite often, when you are wearing Indian clothes and you want to wear a watch, you are just holding your head and saying, ‘what do I do’. You don’t want to whip out your phone so it is really nice to have a beautiful time piece that is jewellery. I don’t need to wear anything on my wrist because I have this beautiful watch.“

‘We are never going to go back to pre-Covid’: Soha Ali Khan

In this exclusive interview, actress Soha Ali Khan shares her deep insight about fitness and well-being. She also talks about her upcoming projects, and how the pandemic has changed the world.

Soha Ali Khan is a versatile actress who has played several impactful roles in films across genres and languages. She is well known for her role in Rang De Basanti that earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. We hosted Soha for an exclusive interview for our latest series, NewsX India A-List. Below are a few excerpts from the interview:

For our first question, we asked Soha about her wellness routine. To this, Soha said, “It is really something that I worry about a lot. Not so much for myself but my young daughter. And then I keep realizing that if something happens to me, then that will also not be a good thing for her, so I must also look after myself.” She continued, “What everyone is now embracing is the immune system, how you strengthen the immune system. The idea is, of course, to try and live a healthy lifestyle as much as possible, and that includes a good diet – try and get as much nutrition as you can from your foods – sleep well…as well as exercise.”

We were then curious to know if Soha thinks that the pandemic has brought a positive change in people’s attitude towards a healthy lifestyle. She replied, “It’s not a general answer or question because there are some people who look after themselves and some people will not, no matter what. And you can see that quite clearly now when you step outside – that some people will just not wear a mask, no matter how many times you tell them.”

Further speaking about people’s attitudes, Soha stated, “A lot of people who are younger take themselves for granted. They feel things are not going to happen to them. Some people just have a better immune system and they don’t know why. Some people suffer from and catch diseases more often than others. You can do a lot of exercises and eat well but still get certain diseases. But I have always looked after myself, and I have always believed that it’s important to love yourself and give yourself that respect.” Moreover, she said jokingly, “If I was to fall sick, a lot of things would fall apart. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I don’t want to find out.”

Putting her thoughts forward about healthy eating, Soha told us, “I think for about 20 years now, I have been eating right, not as a diet, just as a lifestyle. I’m very, very disciplined when it comes to food.” Continuing the thought, the actress said, “Luckily I’m not a foodie, so it’s not like I’m tempted. I just genuinely enjoy healthy food.” Soha also shared advice on healthy eating, “You should try to get your nutrition from foods as opposed to medical supplements, wherever possible,” she said.

Expressing her opinion on the changes brought in by the pandemic, Soha said, “We are never going to go back to pre-Covid, I believe.” She added, “Just that kind of fundamental change terrifies me as a person who is so used to routine, and I dislike change immensely. It really unsettles me.”

Telling us about her upcoming projects, Soha revealed, “I have done two shows. One is for Amazon and one is being produced by MA and it will be released soon on a platform to be disclosed.”

ARABIAN CAMELS LAUNCHES NFT THAT GIVES UP TO 50% IP RIGHTS IN FEATURE FILM

Published

on

In an attempt to “revolutionise” the movie industry, NFT Community Arabian Camels and Swapp Protocol today launched the “Antara Movie NFT,” which allows buyers to hold up to 50% Intellectual Property rights to “Antara”, a $50 million feature film based on the life of Arabian knight Antarah Ibn Shaddad.

Arabian Camels will partner with Swapp Protocol to produce the world’s first decentralised feature film production NFTs with DeFi capabilities. The idea behind partnering with Swapp Protocol is to enable the use of their decentralised finance products to eliminate the monetary risk associated with movie funding.

“My vision was to create a system to produce films that normally cost more than US$50M, completely risk-free,’’ said Alexander Amaratei, the Producer of Antara. “In addition to eliminating funding risks, this system would allow films to be owned by the fans, the NFT owners. This feat would not have been possible without Swapp’s innovative NFT Farming capabilities and blockchain/cryptocurrency knowledge and platforms.”

Swapp’s NFT farming platform will allow Arabian Camel NFT owners to earn passive income on their NFTs. The Farming allows the films to be funded, while simultaneously providing a direct monetary benefit to those who support the project, before the theatrical release. This paradigm shift moves the control of the industry away from traditional lenders and production studios, and into the hands of individuals/fans who support the film, which Swapp coined.

“With the power of community, speed of the internet, and dexterity of DeFi, we are generating a tectonic shift that will create waves of opportunity in the film industry,” said Tural Bayev CEO of Swapp Protocol.

Members from the Arabian Camel NFT community will share in the ownership of the film, get roles in the movie, credit as producers, and join the production team for exclusive gatherings on the set in the Arabian Desert with the cast and crew.

Arabian Camels has also collaborated with Dominic Ryder, CEO of vEmpire, whose token has recently rocketed 1500% and reached a market cap of $100M. Dominic Ryder’s protocol is in the process of designing and creating the ANTARA Play-To-Earn game.

Antarah Ibn Shaddad was a black slave in ancient/pre-Islamic Arabia, who won his freedom and became a lofty knight. He rose to stardom in the 5th century, not only due to his character and prowess on the battlefield but also, his miraculous talent as a poet. His poetry was held in such high regard, that it was sewn in gold, and suspended on the Kaaba in Mecca before the days of Islam. To this day, if one studies Arabic Literature in Oxford or Cambridge, the poetry of Antara is still studied and revered.

Art is everything and nothing, it’s everywhere and nowhere,” says Shefali Bhujbal as she refers to her love for painting and the value system behind her artwork. Her journey with art started with vivid splashes of colour, and in this exhibit, it varies from geometrical abstracts to insipid monochrome pieces in over 50 of her selected artworks.

Her painting style has been inspired by the greats like Vasudeo Gaitonde, S. H. Raza, Sujata Bajaj, Anil Naik, and Vijayraj Bodhankar who have greatly influenced and helped to shape her art form.
