The video that proves The Kid LAROI was ALWAYS going to be a star: Aussie rapper stuns his classmates while rapping at a school concert at 15

An unearthed video has emerged of The Kid LAROI performing at a school concert in Sydney when he was just 15.

The YouTube clip proves the now-18-year-old has always had an impressive stage presence, wowing his classmates with his rapping.

LAROI - real name Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard - was only in Year Nine when the video was taken at the Australian Performing Arts Grammar School in Glebe.

Already using his stage name, LAROI performed his hit song Blessings at the school's Music Showcase.

As he took to the stage, he won plenty of cheers from the enthusiastic audience, working the crowd like a seasoned rap star.

Proving just how far he's come in the three short years since the video was taken, LAROI was among the acts featured in the all-star lineup at the Rolling Loud music festival in California over the weekend.

Other rappers in the lineup included Kid Cudi, J. Cole, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, Lil Yachty, French Montana, Tyga and 2 Chainz.

After growing up in a housing commission block in Waterloo, LAROI permanently relocated to Los Angeles last year after securing a record deal with Sony Music.

In an interview with Rolling Stone in October, LAROI spoke about his humble beginnings and inspiration.

'My mum used to play a lot of hip-hop around the house. She also used to play Erykah Badu and Fugees, Tupac, Kanye [West],' he recounted.

'As I started to get older and go through certain things, I started relating to a lot of the lyrics. Then I just was like, "Damn, I could probably do this s**t myself."'

He said he wrote his first song when he was just six years old, describing it as 'terrible', but at the same time 'pretty f**king good' considering his young age.
