An Gqeberha man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his neighbour during an argument about a beer in the early hours of Saturday.
"It is alleged that at approximately 00:10, the deceased, [40-year-old Roland Phyllis], was home with his girlfriend in Whyteleaf Drive in Algoa Park when he [became] embroiled in an argument with a man at his house," police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said.
The argument appeared to revolve around a beer, she added.

"While [Phyllis] was busy drinking a beer outside, his neighbour approached him asking for beer as well. It is further alleged that the deceased refused to give the suspect a beer whereafter he was stabbed once on the left side of his chest," Janse van Rensburg added.
Phyllis died on the scene.
"The suspect was arrested and detained on a charge of murder and will appear in the New Brighton Magistrate's Court during the week," Janse van Rensburg added.
