A driver and his accomplice were arrested by the State Transport Corporation (NTC) for sexually abusing a woman on a moving bus. The girl (20) is a student in a college in Chennai. She comes from Konur village near Villupuram. A few months ago, she was romantically married. She traveled to her mother's house in Ketilam the day before yesterday and rode a government bus to Konur in the evening.

The bus was driven by Anbuchelvan (45) from Iruvelpattu village and silambarasan (32) from Kudumiyan kuppam near Panruti. The woman was riding alone when people on the Viluppuram-bound bus disembarked at various points. The conductor, silambarasan, is reported to have then sexually harassed the girl. The driver who yelled for the bus to halt did not do so. The girl leaped off the bus while it was driving slowly at one point and managed to flee.

Later, he told his family about it. They apprehended the bus driver and conductor the night before yesterday and turned him over to the Kanha police station. The two were apprehended after police filed a report. Meanwhile, the General Manager of the Transport Corporation has suspended Anbuchelvan and silambarasan and a case was filed for harassing a young girl on a running bus and this news ahs shocked everyone.
